Danish Outdoor Festival

The Danish Outdoor Festival is an annual celebration of outdoor life and adventure. The event features a diverse program, including inspiring workshops, exciting activities, and educational talks covering topics such as hiking, bushcraft, outdoor survival, bikepacking, and kayaking. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned outdoor enthusiast, there’s something for everyone.

The festival brings together outdoor brands, retailers, speakers, authors, and artisans. Visitors can participate in free workshops and lectures, and there are various accommodation options, including tents, hammocks, tarps, or vans. Plus, you’ll find gourmet wilderness cooking and bars serving refreshing drinks.

What is HangCon (Europe)?

In 2025, HangCon Europe will be held for the second time, and if you haven’t heard of it before, here’s what you need to know.

Hammock camping gatherings, known as “hangs,” are popular in the USA, bringing together hammock enthusiasts to exchange knowledge, test gear, and build community. These events range from small meetups to large-scale gatherings like HangCon Florida, recognized as the world’s largest hammock event.

HangCon Florida attracts a diverse crowd of hammock enthusiasts each year, offering workshops, gear demonstrations, and networking opportunities. Curious about what HangCon is all about? Check out this video that we made from our visit to HangCon 2025 in Florida.

Following its massive success in the United States, HangCon is now making its way to Europe. The idea was sparked during a conversation between key organizers of HangCon Florida and the Danish Outdoor Festival, and just like that, the first steps were taken towards bringing a dedicated hammock event to Europe.

What to Expect at HangCon Europe 2025

HangCon Europe 2025 will feature a wide range of activities, including workshops, gear demonstrations, and opportunities to meet representatives from leading European hammock brands - like us at Amok - as well as top American brands making the trip across the Atlantic to showcase their latest innovations. Attendees can also look forward to meeting influential figures in the hammock community, including Shug Emery and Derek Hansen.

For now, HangCon Europe is not a standalone event but part of the Danish Outdoor Festival. Who knows - maybe one day it will become an independent gathering. In the meantime, we’re excited about what’s coming in 2025, just outside Copenhagen!
